Name: Alexa Kellenberger
House: Lastinger

Hi, I’m Alexa Kellenberger! I am pursuing a dual degree in English literature and Italian language with minors in religion and anthropology at Florida State University. I am the President of the Italian Club at FSU and a member of the Gamma Kappa Alpha National Italian Honor Society. I am from Orlando, Florida, but I have lived all across the state including in Gainesville and New Smyrna Beach.
I’ve been living at Lastinger at SSF since my first semester in college and for the last two years in the house I took up the role of House Manager. I’ve also been House Cleaning Supervisor, Business Manager, and Social Chair in the house.

I love the community that I have found at the Southern Scholarship Foundation. I would not be the young woman I am today without the experiences I’ve had at the Lastinger Scholarship House. Some of my favorite memories of my time at Lastinger have been attending the wedding of one of my beloved housemates, going to Panama City Beach on a house trip with the entire house during the Fall of 2021, and all of the late-night talks in the kitchen with the ladies (a place of high drama and shenanigans).

To me, SSF means belonging and acceptance. I have found a community here that truly means the world to me – I am not exaggerating when I say that I have made lifelong friends that I would want at my wedding. This community has been there for me during my highest highs and lowest of lows. I really treasure my time at SSF and I will never take it for granted. I would not be graduating from thee Florida State University without both the financial and emotional support from this foundation. I have learned so much from living with this wonderful and diverse group of women. I wouldn’t change my four years here for anything.
