Ron Shank, Director of Maintenance at the University of Florida

Ron Shank is the Director of Maintenance at the University of Florida campus in Gainesville.  He was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL.  He and his wife, Gail, just returned to the United States after living and working in Kuwait as contractors for the Army for the past four years. They are excited about being back in the states and settling into the American lifestyle they missed. They wanted to settle in Florida to be near Ron’s brother and bought property in Melrose. They will soon move into the house they are renovating on their property. Their married son, Joshua and his wife Mary are living and working in Kuwait. 

Formerly, Ron has worked with the Girl Scouts of America, Carlyle Place; a Continuing Care Retirement Center in Macon, Ga., and other property management locations in Atlanta with 30 years background as Facilities Maintenance. He served as Chief Engineer in commercial properties and Director of Maintenance for several facilities. He is retired from the Air Force and Georgia Air National Guard. 

Ron is excited about joining the Southern Scholarship Foundation and enjoys all the students he works with on campus.
