Mickey S. Moore, President/CEO
Mickey S. Moore, the President/CEO of Southern Scholarship Foundation, is originally from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and is a 1992 graduate of Florida State University. While attending FSU, he was involved in many extra curricular activities (e.g. the Flying High Circus) and he is the first-ever alum of SSF to serve as President/CEO of the organization!
After a brief involvement in politics right after graduation, Mickey spent the next 15+ years in the financial industry – managing and leading in various capacities at consumer finance companies, credit unions and banks. From 2007 to 2009 he traveled the U.S. as a consultant to financial institutions in the area of business development processes and, just prior to joining Southern Scholarship Foundation in Sept of 2009, he owned and operated his own consulting firm specializing in business development and financial operations for small businesses in the Tallahassee area. His experience and expertise lies in the realms of business development, sales processes and sale management, financial operations and leadership/organizational transitions and turn-key opportunities.
Throughout his career, Mickey has devoted many hours to non-profits as a Board member, mentor and fundraiser – e.g. Red Cross, Big Brother/Big Sisters, Rotary Youth Camp, Sunset Rotary and Capital City Kiwanis.
In December of 2008, Mickey married Audrey Hendrick, an attorney at Cadenhead and Dees, P.A. in Tallahassee. In his spare time, Mickey plays baseball and softball in various Tallahassee leagues and he is a competitive runner in the Gulf Winds Track Club – he recently finished in the top 8% at the 2011 Boston Marathon with a time of 3:04:11 – and raised over $1000 for Miracle League Sports during his training. He also enjoys writing, blogging and reading topics such as Leadership, Sales, Team Building and Communication.
